Race start times:
- *26.2 Marathon and Team Relays: 5:00 AM; There is a 5 1/2 hour cut off for marathon. Water stations and support shuts down at 10:30 AM. Roads are not closed off to traffic so please run on the shoulder. Your "support crew" should stay on shoulder too. Be safe!
- 13.1 Half Marathon: 7:00 AM. There is a 2 1/2 hour cut off for half marathon. No walkers. Roads are not closed off to traffic so please run on the shoulder. Your "support crew" should stay on shoulder too. Be safe!
- 5K Run and 5K Walk: 7:00 AM. Roads are not closed off to traffic so please run on the shoulder. Your "support crew" should stay on shoulder too. Be safe!

Race course details
*26.2 Mile Marathon Course & Map
START at road to Taos Pueblo, 100 meters north of Kachina Lodge and next to Allsup’s station. Proceed towards Taos Mountain Casino, turn left on Hail Creek Road. At traffic light, turn right on US64 and proceed north. Continue on US 64 to the intersection with NM150 and NM522. Continue through the intersection onto NM522 due north. The marathon course turnaround point is in Arroyo Hondo, (11 miles into the race). LOOK FOR TURNAROUND ARROW ON ROAD. You will now proceed due south. At approximately 11.5 miles, you will turn right on a dirt road (B006) THIS IS IMPORTANT! LOOK FOR ARROW VEERING RIGHT. Proceed on dirt road B006 for 1 mile and turn left on B007. This is a steep climb. Stay on this road (B007) for approximately 2 miles. The B007 road comes back to NM 522. Proceed south on NM522 back into town of Taos. Turn right at stop light onto Camino de la Placita. Turn left on Lund St. Turn right on Hinde St. Turn left on Civic Plaza Dr. At the traffic light, continue across Paseo del Pueblo Norte and proceed to the southwest entrance of Kit Carson Park; onto the walking path and finish on the North end of Park entrance and FINISH.

Aid & Water Stations
Water and aid stations are shared between all races. They are at approximately every 2 miles for the 26.2 mile full marathon and 13.1 half marathon as well as where they intersect with the 5K course. Most water stations also have Gatorade. For the full marathon, after mile 15 there will also be food and Powerbars.
Climate
Temperatures at start average 50 to 60 F. By 10:00am the temperatures can reach 70 - 80 F. Low humidity. It is important to stay hydrated throughout your event. see historical and monthly weather here.
Proceeds
For many years, the Taos Marathon has served as an anonymous donor to numerous individual and community needs. The Taos Marathon will continue to give by providing for the funding and in the promotion of youth running in the Taos area. The first event to be sponsored will be the Taos Kids Run on May 12th which will be for 1st, 2nd , 3rd , 4th, and 5th graders with will include the Taos Pueblo Day School, Taos Charter School, and Taos Integrated School of the Arts (TISA). When you run on June 5th, you will have already sponsored an event! Please refer to this website for update and schedule of future youth running events and details.
